I'm just a guy who loves to run around and have fun. I do pretty much everything from cooking, to writing, to watching anime. I've also lived a varied life, from living in Japan, to subtitling anime, to driving along back roads trying to find my way to different places. I tend to be silly, and socially inept, but I don`t let that stop me from trying.
I tend to go on and on about my interests, if you let me. And quite a bit of the time, I'll have a new interest to talk about, though I don`t usually go into the flare-up interests on here. Somehow, I think that a casual discussion about cold fusion or the like wouldn`t quite interest the readers.
I graduated a couple years back from Ball State with a degree in Japanese and a degree in journalism, and even taught English through the JET program in Japan. I'm actually now a full-fledged, licensed teacher of the Japanese language, who's actually teaching more ESL than Japanese.
I`m an Aspie, which means that I`ve been diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome, which in itself is a form of autism. So I'm autistic. And I have absolutely no problem with it. Being an Aspie is just a part of me and I learned long ago to accept that. Some people are wired differently than others. I'm not normal. Deal with it.
So... You have someone who tends to shy away from social activities as a teacher. Kinda humorous, actually. Well, until you realize that I get along with children especially well. My interests tend to be similar to theirs, and I have no problem making a fool out of myself on a normal basis. And because of this, I keep getting comments that I`m a great teacher. Funny, huh? It helps that in a classroom, things are run by my rules.
But in the end, I'm not even sure if teaching is the right fit for me. After experiencing the public school system from the teacher's side of the desk, I'm not sure if I can deal with the politics. That, and I hate having to dumb down the curriculum just to keep the students coming.
Feel free to read whatever I write. And feel free to comment as well. I`m more than happy to have you here reading my view of the world. Be sure to read the memories, as they'll give you better insight into my thoughts and processes of dealing with the world.
Glad to have you here. :)
